Real Tigers Roar Back to Victory

The match between Real Tigers and Thuto Residents was held at the Tshwane University of Technology South Campus on April 24. Students came up in numbers to watch this exciting match. Despite difficult playing conditions due to the weather, the match delivered drama and a late winner that kept spectators on the edge of their seats.

The game started slowly because players on both teams were still adjusting to the wet field. Players find it difficult to pass the ball to one another, and the ball was moving in opposite directions. However, Thuto Residents managed to adapt to the field in the first half and created many chances, which gave them an early lead. The goal gave Thuto a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

In the second half, Real Tigers adopted strategies to adapt to the wet field. They were using long balls and Quick attacks to break Thuto’s defence. Thuto's defence sensed the presence of Real Tigers attackers and conceded a goal, bringing the score to 1-1 and shifting the match's momentum.

As the game entered the final minutes, Real Tigers pushed for a winning goal. The rain continued to fall, making the game more challenging for both teams. However, Real Tigers created many chances but missed many of them. In the dying minutes, Real Tigers earned a free kick from a dangerous position and converted it into the spot, sealing a 2-1 victory.

Vusi Mabizela, the Thuto resident coach, said his team started the game well but failed to maintain the lead until the dying minutes due to the bad weather conditions. “We had a positive start in the first half and deserved the lead, but the weather and pressure from Real Tigers affected our concentration, and we ended up losing the game”, he said.

The Real Tigers coach, Mandla Nkosi, was impressed by his team's performance and fighting spirit. “It was a difficult game for the boys because of the weather, but the boys did a fantastic job coming from behind and sealed the victory just like that. I’m very happy for today’s win”, he said.

Siyabonga Ndaba from Real Tigers was named man of the match after scoring the late winning goal for Real Tigers. He expressed his Excitement after the game. “I’m very happy that I scored the goal that helped my team to win this difficult game today.
